SMITH BRAIN CONNECTIONS
VISUAL IDENTITY DESIGN / LOGO DESIGN / COLLATERAL DESIGN / WEBSITE DESIGNFounded in 2016, Smith Brain Connections is a nonprofit dedicated to connecting healthcare professionals to the latest educational resources about the brain and trauma. I designed their logo and visual identity to highlight their family’s engaging leadership, and human-centered connection to this noble cause.
Challenge
There is a lack of awareness about Traumatic Brain Injuries and their long-term health implications. Part of SBC’s challenge is educating people on the prevalence and severity of these kinds of injuries, and to
LOGO DESIGN
I designed the Smith Brain Connections logomark to communicate their impact in a single image. Just like the two hands come together to form a unified brain, SBC unites educators, donors, healthcare professionals, and lawmakers to ensure a better future for Traumatic Brain Injury patients and their families.
The typeface was selected to mimic the curves of the mark, creating strong, cohesive lockups. The overall logo feels appropriate for an educational nonprofit operating in the healthcare space.
